The first tune was reportedly played for the great Gaelic hero Alasdair MacColla, sometimes known as Colkitto. MacColla came to fame as Montrose's lieutenant in 1644, eventually being killed in battle in Ireland in 1647. This tune is part of a larger piece described as, "That wild and monstrous piece of music" by a nineteenth century historian. The rest are some rollicking jigs in the Tinkers' tradition. Feel free to sing along!
